Installation for Parish Council Members
Almighty God, who calls all things out of non-being into your divine light, grant these your servants the wisdom and insight to serve you and your people worthily and fruitfully, for you are our great Shepherd who laid down your life for your sheep. Grant that your flock will be well served by these whom you have chosen to be members of the Parish Council serving St. Innocent Orthodox Mission. Increase your flock through their prayers and their example and their guidance. This we ask in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
All members of the Parish Council please answer the following questions:
Do you willingly accept this charge as a member of the Parish Council as elected by the congregation and confirmed by your Bishop?
Do you promise to uphold the dogmas and canons of the Holy Orthodox Church and the Bylaws of this parish to the best of your ability?
Do you promise to foster love and cooperation with the Rector and among the Council and the congregation, placing the spiritual welfare of the congregation above every material and personal consideration?
Do you promise to endeavor at all times to be an example to the rest of the flock in leading a godly life, receiving the Sacraments of the Church worthily and regularly?
Let us pray:
O God, these are your children and your sheep whom you have called to serve on the Parish Council of this congregation. Bless them and keep them in all their ways, and bless your people through their faithful service. This we ask in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Grant O Lord, a prosperous and peaceful life, health, salvation, and furtherance in all good things to Thy servants. May the Grace of Your Holy Spirit inspire them to serve on this Parish Council for their elected terms with integrity, honesty, and good will, and preserve them for many years.
